Join us for a classic stop on the XCMarathon circuit and see why it is the most talked about.
Ride through a barn, a 1/2 mile pump track, epic rock gardens, bridges -- just a few of the epic trail features at this amazing private trail centre.
And remember to bring your gear for camping right at the start finish!
Every year's course is a new adventure, as Rob and the MTB Kingston trail crew never leave things alone!
Although there isn’t a lot of climbing, this is still a challenging ride. There are folks every year who are surprised by the workout they got on this "non-climbing" course.
Choose from 3 distances:
Full Marathon ~60k
Half Marathon ~30k
The mid-lap aid station will be as close to the mid point as possible.
There will also be an aid station at the start of lap 2 (30k) for the Marathon distance.
Each aid station will have Skratch Labs hydration, water, fruit, chips, pickles, some Coke, and whatever else we can throw at you to keep you going to the finish line!

There will be lots of signs on course. Our arrows are orange UCI-shaped arrows on a white background. We also have an X for when you miss a turn.
These are used at our discretion and are not at every turn, so keep your head up, or use your GPS.
Odyssey Medical will be on site to take care of any first aid issues. If you or a rider near you is injured during the race call Odyssey Medical (on number plate) or report to one of the Aid Stations.
What bike can I ride?
Any mountain bike that is trail worthy and safe!
We've even had some people have a great day riding a gravel bike or fat bike. (Just keep in mind that with a gravel bike, you may feel the bumps at bit more.)
Substance Projects' Weather Guarantee
Weather is always challenging and can completely change a race. So we developed the Substance Projects 100% Weather Guarantee: We guarantee that 100% of the course will have weather.
If any section doesn’t have weather we will refund you that percentage of your entry fee upon proof there was no weather.
We have a strict "No Whining" policy. If it was all easy and downhill then it wouldn’t feel like you accomplished anything!
These are races for everyone! In the spirit of equity and inclusion we celebrate difference and especially encourage those who have historically been excluded from sport.
See our Inclusion Statement on our About Us page.
Cancellation / Refunds
For 2023 there will be NO REFUNDS for those who can’t make it on race day or for cancellation of the event for any reason.
If the event cannot proceed, registrants will have their entry carried over to the re-scheduled date or have credit for another Substance Projects Event.
